Waiting on the Tide

After reaching the brow of Porth Hellick Point, you are greeted with a panoramic view of the bay and surrounding headlands. Taking a moment to appreciate the vista, the sparkle on the water catches your eye first. Surrounded by a sea of dancing light, a local fisherman tends to his boat, preparing her for the next outing.

A simple, everyday working scene is transformed into something almost enviable for the viewer - the pure salt air, the shimmering sea, the gentle slapping of water against the hull; sights, sounds and smells that stir the senses.

This little painting is a celebration of everyday island life - quiet, familiar, and deeply connected to the sea.
