Ganilly
It's not often I find a unique piece of wood but this piece most certainly is! As soon as I found it on the beach, I thought it needed to be sitting on a shelf with legs, fins or flippers dangling down. Then I noticed there was the shape of a fish tail naturally carved into the wood and "Ganilly" was born, I'm rather smitten with him! A Grey Seal named after one of the Eastern Isles, where they can be seen beached in masses in breeding season.
Acrylic painting on driftwood.
A piece measuring approximately 18cm x 9cm x 7cm (H x W x D).
Original artwork by Gemma Pearce.
Please Note: This piece sits best on a shelf with a lip and a flat surface for support, as shown in the sideview photos. However, it can sit on other shelves but tends to lean forward and may fall.
The type of Driftwood/wood found varies. It is not always known if the wood has been treated (varnished/painted) when found.
Colour may vary slightly from image shown due to photographic lighting conditions and your computer screen settings.
