Father Thames figurehead from the SS. Thames which wrecked on the western rocks (near St. Agnes, Isles of Scilly) in 1841, losing 61 of 65 people on board. Sailing from Dublin to London, she sadly lost her way in ferocious weather. This figurehead can be seen atop of the Neptune steps in Tresco Abbey Gardens.
Original artwork on A4 size extra smooth Bristol Board paper, drawn with black and blue ink pen, actual image is smaller than A4. Framed and mounted with a backing conservation barrier board, white frame and blue mount. Frame measurements 14 x 11 inches/35.56 cm x 27.94 cm.
